The Soloist...

My wife and I just finished watching a movie we purchased from Blockbuster on one of those "Buy 5 for $20" deals. The movie, "The Soloist," featured another great performance from Jamie Foxx. He played a very convincing schizophrenic musician that found himself on the streets of L.A. after being a promising prodigy at Juilliard.
I was captivated by two of the themes in "The Soloist." First of all, the portrayal of homeless life in L.A. was vivid and prompted one to think about how people are able to cope in such conditions. Secondly, it was amazing to see how God spoke to people in different ways in the film (although this may simply be my interpretation). For Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie's character), God spoke to him through music and, eventually, friends and family.
After watching this movie, I revisited some of the classical music I was fond of in high school, which was a serious blessing. One particular song - Yanni's Nightingale - was my joint back in '98... (Yeah, I actually listened to Yanni in high school - in addition to Outkast, Nas, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Slum Village, etc).
But, yeah... I say all of this to say that when you know that God has a way of speaking to you, allow Him to speak often. Try not to cut Him off... He's trying to bless you...
